Vinyl Plank (LVP)

Every Grain Tells a Story, Let Us Reveal It

Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP)

It has become one of the most popular flooring choices out there, and for good reason, here's why it's worth considering:

It stands up to almost anything

LVP is built with a tough wear layer on top, making it highly resistant to scratches, dents, and everyday wear. It's an excellent choice for busy households with kids, pets, or heavy foot traffic.

Water resistant

Unlike hardwood or even engineered wood, most luxury vinyl plank are water resistant, which makes it ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, basements, laundry rooms, and other moisture-prone spaces where real wood just isn't practical.

It looks remarkably realistic

Modern printing and embossing technology give LVP incredibly convincing wood grain, texture, and even knots . Many people can't tell it apart from real hardwood without touching it.

It's comfortable and quiet underfoot.

LVP has a bit of natural give, making it softer and warmer to walk on than tile or stone. Many varieties also include built-in underlayment that helps reduce noise, which is a nice bonus in multi-story homes.

It's budget-friendly

LVP typically costs significantly less than hardwood or engineered wood, both in materials and installation, while still delivering a high-end look.

It's easy to install and maintain

Most luxury vinyl planks use simple click-lock installation, making it a popular choice for DIY projects. Cleaning is just as simple. Regular sweeping and occasional mopping is all it needs.

It's low-maintenance long term

There's no refinishing, sanding, or resealing required. LVP is designed to look good with minimal upkeep for many years.
Overall, luxury vinyl plank offers a rare combination of durability, water resistance, affordability, and style, making it a smart, practical option for nearly any room in the home.

Luxury Vinyl Plank combines the beauty of real wood with the durability modern homes need. Water-resistant, comfortable underfoot, easy to maintain, and budget-friendly, LVP is a practical flooring solution designed to handle everyday life without sacrificing style.

If you're looking for someone to refinish or install hardwood floors, stop searching and call Bachman Floors. We had nearly 2,000 square feet of solid hardwoods sanded and refinished, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. From day one, the communication, professionalism, and attention to detail were outstanding. They treated our home with care and made what could have been a stressful project incredibly easy. The biggest difference was their guidance in choosing the stain. Instead of simply asking us to pick a color, they walked us through the options, explained how each would look in our home and lighting, and helped us choose the perfect fit. We ended up going with one of Bona's newer stain colors that feels modern and on-trend while still maintaining the timeless character of real hardwood. It's the perfect balance of contemporary and classic, and we couldn't be happier with the result. The craftsmanship is exceptional. The floors look brand new, the finish is flawless, and they completely transformed the feel of our home. We've had multiple people walk in and immediately comment on how beautiful the floors are. Finding contractors who combine incredible craftsmanship with excellent customer service is rare. Bachman Floors does both. If you want a company that genuinely cares about the final result and takes pride in their work, I can't recommend them highly enough. Five stars without hesitation!

I had a great experience with this flooring company. The crew was professional, showed up on time, and paid attention to the details. They installed LVP flooring in my house and the final result came out even better than I expected. Everything was clean after the job and communication throughout the process was very good. Definitely recommend them if you’re looking for quality flooring work.

I highly recommend Carlos and his team at Bacmann Flooring for your next flooring project. They were so professional and with an exceptional skill level. They color matched and stained an existing red oak top stair to blend the transition between pine stairs and the LVP that I chose for the project. Used a satin finish which looks great next to the LVP. Wow! Love how it looks. They completed demo of old carpet and installed 500 sq ft of LVP with 3 different moldings and the specialty work, in one day with clean up and haul away. Competitive pricing, as well. I needed the job completed with a short window turn around. So pleased Carlos could make it happen! Looking forward to working with this team again for my next floor project this winter. Thanks, Bachmann Flooring!

Questions

Most true LVP is 100% waterproof all the way through, the core itself won’t swell or warp when exposed to water, unlike laminate. That said, standing water sitting in seams for a long time can still cause issues over time, so spills should still be wiped up in a reasonable timeframe.

Often, yes. LVP can typically be installed over tile, vinyl, or concrete as long as the existing surface is flat, clean, and structurally sound. It’s not usually recommended over carpet, since the surface needs to be firm and even for the planks to lock together properly.

With normal household use, quality LVP generally lasts 15–25 years. Its lifespan depends largely on the thickness of the wear layer, thicker wear layers hold up better against scratches and heavy traffic over time.

No, one of LVP’s advantages is that it has a bit of natural flex and cushioning, especially with attached underlayment, so it feels warmer and softer underfoot than tile or stone. It’s also more forgiving if you drop something on it.

Yes. Because most LVP is installed with a click-lock floating system, individual damaged planks can often be pulled out and replaced, However the safest way its removing the whole section starting at the closest wall until the damaged piece, and then replace the piece and install everything again.

What's the difference between SPC to WPC?

Depends on where and how you're using it:

SPC (Stone Plastic Composite / Stone Polymer Composite)

The core is made from limestone powder combined with PVC and stabilizers, creating a very dense, rigid core.

Extremely durable and dent-resistant.

Great for heavy furniture, high-traffic commercial spaces, or homes with large dogs.

Thinner profile

While still being rigid, since the stone-based core doesn't need extra thickness to stay stable.

More dimensionally stable

Resists expansion and contraction with temperature changes, making it a strong choice for areas with fluctuating temps, like sunrooms or spaces near exterior doors.

Harder underfoot

Less cushioning and a firmer feel when walking, since there's no wood-based give in the core.

Slightly louder

Without added underlayment, many SPC products include an attached pad to help with sound.

WPC (Wood Plastic Composite / Wood Polymer Composite)

The core is made from a mix of wood pulp/fibers and plastic composites, often aerated to be lighter.

Softer, more cushioned feel underfoot

Closer to the comfort of real wood or engineered flooring.

Warmer to the touch

Which some homeowners prefer in living spaces and bedrooms.

Quieter naturally

Absorbing sounds better than SPC in most cases.

Slightly thicker

A little thicker than SPC to achieve the same rigidity, since wood-based cores are less dense than stone-based ones.

Slightly louder

Without added underlayment, many SPC products include an attached pad to help with sound.

A bit less resistant to denting

Under heavy weight compared to SPC, and can be marginally more sensitive to extreme heat.
